Our Story

We Were Students
Who Couldn't Afford
Bad Software.

So we learned to build good software ourselves. Then we built it for others. That frustration — the gap between what technology could do and what most businesses actually got — became the founding idea of Dashmier.

Where it started

It started with a problem we personally couldn't solve. During our engineering studies in Salem, we watched small and medium businesses in our city struggle with websites that barely worked, accounting software that crashed weekly, and no real access to the technology tools that larger companies took for granted.

The standard response was: "that kind of software is expensive, you need to be bigger." We didn't accept that. We started building for friends, then their families' businesses, then for small businesses around Salem — staying up past midnight in hostel rooms, figuring out PHP and MySQL, deploying on shared hosting that crashed monthly.

Those clients got something better than expensive agencies were offering, for a fraction of the price — because we weren't doing it for the money. We were doing it because the problem genuinely mattered to us.

What changed

After graduation, every option pointed toward joining a big IT service company and doing what we were told. We asked: what if we built something that combined the quality standards of large companies with the genuine care we'd been putting into our work since we were students?

Dashmier Technologies was registered in Salem in 2020. The name draws from a Tamil root meaning "purposeful" — work done with intention, not just for a paycheque. We started with three people, a rented desk, and the same clients we'd been serving from our hostels.

"The standard was never whether something could be done. The standard was always whether it was done well enough that we'd be proud to show our own families."
Where we are now

Today Dashmier is 40+ engineers, designers, and strategists across Salem, Chennai, and remote — serving healthcare systems, logistics companies, D2C brands, and school networks. We've launched quantum computing education through Dashmier Quantum Lab and built products used by thousands of people daily.

The work is different. The scale is different. The values are exactly the same as when we were students who couldn't afford to build anything badly.

Eight Years, Built One Decision at a Time

2016
First Line of Code

A second-year engineering student in Salem writes a hostel management system. It crashes on registration day. He stays up two nights to fix it. It works.

2018
First Paying Client

A local textile distributor needs billing and inventory software. Built during semester breaks for ₹12,000 — reinvested immediately into a better laptop. The client still uses a version today.

2019
The First Team

Three friends — an engineer, a designer, and someone who could talk to clients — start taking on projects together after graduation. No office, no contracts, pure handshake trust.

2020
Dashmier Registered

Officially registered in Salem, Tamil Nadu. First office: 200 sq ft, two desks, a whiteboard, and a very slow internet connection. First non-founder employee hired.

2021
First ₹1Cr Revenue Year

Revenue crosses ₹1 crore. Team grows to 12. First enterprise client outside Tamil Nadu signed through 6 LinkedIn follow-ups over 3 months.

2022
AI Practice Launched

Dedicated AI & Automation service line launched. First custom LLM integration built for a healthcare client. 35% of new enquiries now mention AI in the first meeting.

2023
Quantum Lab Born

Dashmier Quantum Lab launched. 252+ researchers contacted at IITs, IISc, and IISERs. National Quantum Mission aligned curriculum in development.

2024
120+ Projects. 40+ People. Same Values.

120+ successful projects across 6 industries. Team of 40+ across Salem and Chennai. Still the same founding principle: quality for everyone, not just those who can afford expensive agencies.

The Things We Refuse to Compromise On

These aren't values written for a branding exercise. They're the things that have caused us to walk away from clients, turn down shortcuts, and sometimes take longer and earn less.

Quality Is Non-Negotiable

We've never shipped something we were embarrassed by. We've delayed launches, absorbed costs, and had difficult conversations to avoid that. We always will.

Radical Transparency

If a project is running late, you hear it from us first. If we make a mistake, we tell you before you notice. No spin. No excuses. Clarity is respect.

Technology for Everyone

Quality software shouldn't be a luxury. We price fairly, work with startups, and share what we know. Technology should lift people up — not sort them by budget.

Long-Term Thinking

We build for where you're going, not just where you are. Every architecture decision is made with the next 5 years in mind — not the next sprint deadline.

Permanent Curiosity

We started as students. We never stopped. The team trains, experiments, researches, and publishes. Stale knowledge makes average work — and we can't afford average.

Rooted in Tamil Nadu

We're proud to have built something meaningful from Salem — not Bangalore or Mumbai. We hire locally and show that world-class work happens everywhere.
